Staff Initiated Research Fund (SIRF)
SIRF is intended to foster original, externally focused research by full-time staff or faculty of Humber College. SIRF funds are intended to provide staff with modest amounts of research funding to explore strategic research initiatives. Pilot studies, proofs of concept and principle, and many other types of projects can receive seed funding through this program.
The SIRF process is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. An effort will be made to award SIRF funds across the College (i.e., to applicants from a number of Schools/Departments) and priority will be given to projects that directly engage students in the research process.

Humber has been awarded a 3 year SSHRC grant under the Institutional Grant program (SIG). 1-2 SIRF projects per year will be funded under SIG.
Please note: Only projects that fall under the SSHRC discipline will be eligible for SIG.
