Here’s what our graduates say …
* Heather Baillie-Brown - Lunacy Pictures
Thomas Alva Edison did not invent the light bulb by himself. He surrounded himself with a smart group of trusted people who helped take him to the next level.
A few years ago I decided it was time to take my comedy writing seriously. I'd written a number of comedic feature scripts that favorably impressed my peers but I really
wanted to take things to the next level.
I spotted an ad for the Humber School of Comedy's Comic Script Writing Program by Correspondence. Working with David Flaherty, I managed to polish a feature script that won a screenwriting competition. Today I write, produce and direct my own material. I gained valuable insight into comedic storytelling via Humber which helped me take it to the next level and then some.
Your instructor is at your disposal via phone and email. They are fair, they are fast and they're fun. How many comedy writers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
I'll leave that up to Edison - I've got another comedic feature script to write!
* Katherine Haupt - Author of 12 published novels writing as Kate Bridges
Humber ’s Comic Script Writing by Correspondence course is terrific!
Whether a beginner or experienced writer, David Flaherty will teach you to look at comedy and storytelling from a fresh perspective.
Over the years, I’ve read many screenplay manuals, but until now, never really grasped screenplay structure and comedy techniques. I’ve always wanted to write a romantic comedy screenplay, and this course has made that dream happen.
David Flaherty is an amazing instructor. He’s sharp, thorough and inspiring.

This comedy script writing course with David Flaherty, has been an amazing experience in self and art discovery. It has given me the freedom to have fun writing seriously about fun. I think it was Garrick, the Victorian actor-manager, who said on his deathbed, “Dying is easy, comedy is hard.” Well, he didn’t know that writing comedy can be as difficult as dying but also as easy as breathing, given the guidance we have here.
