Am I eligible for funding? Answer
If you have been laid off on or after January 1, 2005, you could be eligible for funding. Individuals who have taken an interim job after their layoff may also be eligible. To find out if you are eligible for Second Career, speak with a Case Manager at your local
Employment Ontario Assessment Centre.
What training is available? Answer
Second Career is intended to assist participants to train for better jobs than they could obtain without training. Skills training of up to 2 years in duration will be considered. If academic upgrading is required as a pre-requisite to skills training, the total training period can be up to 3 years.
What if I need Grade 12? Answer
Up to one year of academic upgrading can be approved as a prerequisite to your skills training. Humber offers academic upgrading courses to help you meet the admission requirements of your chosen program. You may also qualify as a mature student. Speak to a Humber College Enrolment Advisor for more information.
What if I need English as a Second Language? Answer
Up to one year of language training can be approved as a prerequisite to your skills training. Humber offers English for Academic Purposes to help you meet the admission requirements of your chosen program. Speak to a Humber College Enrolment Advisor for more information.
