CTL: Part-time Faculty Orientation

This orientation is designed for new faculty and outlines necessary information to prepare and deliver courses at Humber. Note: Participants can register for one or both of the sessions. Please register separately for each session.  Session One
  • North: D236 – Tues., May 2, 2017 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Lake: F103 -- Tues., May 2, 2017 -- 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
This session includes an overview of Humber College’s student population, teaching and learning services, and resources for faculty and students. Participants will also share strategies for preparing for the first day of class. All attendees will receive an information package that includes the faculty handbook, campus maps, student code of conduct, and important contact information. Session Two
  • North: D236 – Wed., May 3, 2017 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Lake: F103 -- Wed., May 3, 2017 -- 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
This session includes an overview of adult learning principles and ways to incorporate a learner-centered approach to teaching and learning practice. Participants will learn lesson planning fundamentals and inclusive ways to engage learners.
