Fourth Annual RAPP Research Forum

Research in a Cross-cultural Context: Challenges and Opportunities The wealth of diversity in globalization, immigration, multinational businesses and organizations has created challenges and opportunities for designing research studies in these cross-cultural contexts. Additionally, the increasing use of internet and mobile technologies to access research populations across the globe contributes to a body of research with a cross-cultural focus. Some research challenges include knowledge of, and sensitivity to, culture-specific ethical beliefs and other practices, facility with linguistic translation, and interpretation of participant behavior, resulting in the potential for greater researcher bias. However, cross-cultural research also brings with it opportunities in the form of interdisciplinary and comparative studies, resulting in a researcher’s ability to generate data about human behavior, which can create deeper and far-reaching insights for organizations. Please join us at the RAPP Research Forum @ Humber College-Lakeshore Campus, Wednesday, April 5, 2017, to learn more about this topic through industry speakers, student presentations and open discussions.
