Effective Monday May 8th, 2017 Testing Services will no longer require students with private room accommodations to make a booking to utilize this resource.

We have found that the rooms are being reserved for longer than required and, as a result, we have not been able to effectively use the space. This has resulted in students not having access to private rooms. Our hope is to better service our students and not create additional barriers for them to test.

We know that this change will result in a few questions from students and our service partners, and hope we can provide some insight below:

Q:  I need a private room to test based on my accommodations, how do I gain access?

A:  Students who have a private room accommodation will be able to access this resource on a walk in basis. They will be first come, first serve as all other seats in our Centre.

Q:  I am concerned I will not have access to a private room.

A:  In the event the rooms are all in use during peak time, you may need to wait until a room is available. If you are bound to a specific start time, we will seat you in the most distraction minimized space we have available, and transfer you into the private room as soon as we can.

Q:  I require a reader/scribe, is this a walk in service too?

A:  No, reader/scribe appointments will have to be pre-booked as this requires schedule of staff to assist the student.

Q: I need to complete a Timed Writing assessment with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Is this a walk in service?

A: No, Timed Writing with Dragon appointments must be pre-booked as well.
