Toronto, Ontario – Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning will soon be training Ontario’s next generation of real estate salespersons and brokers. An estimated 12,000 aspiring real estate professionals are expected to take 55,000 courses annually, as the college partners with the Real Estate Council of Ontario and NIIT Canada to provide new salesperson and broker education programs across the province beginning July 1, 2019.

Humber has partnered with NIIT Canada, a training solutions provider, to develop and design the curriculum. Humber will administer and deliver both the salesperson and broker education programs which will be comprised of courses, simulations and exams. Programs will be available in-class, in real time virtual classrooms and online in self-paced e-learning format.

“Humber has a strong industry reputation for credential testing and delivery of professional designation programs,” said Alister Mathieson, vice-president Advancement and External Affairs. “Further, Humber is closely connected with our local and provincial communities, and the opportunity to deliver specialized education and skills to real estate salespersons and brokers will help contribute to Ontario’s economy as newly trained professionals enter the workforce.”

Overall, RECO retains ownership of the new salesperson and broker education curriculum. “We’re pleased to announce that the new program will be developed by this partnership of two innovative leaders in professional education,” said Joseph Richer, Registrar, RECO. “The new program will bring together the best in local real estate knowledge and education delivery, and leading edge expertise in program development. It will help ensure that students are practice-ready when they begin their real estate careers.”

RECO selected NIIT Canada and Humber through a rigorous Request for Proposal (RFP) process. “NIIT Canada is truly honored to have been selected as the provider of the real estate professional training programs to RECO. We are looking forward to developing the highest quality of training programs for Ontario’s real estate professionals. Canada is an important market for us and we are committed to expanding our operations in Canada, specifically Ontario, through our Toronto office to better serve the needs of our Canadian customers,” said Sapnesh Lalla, President, NIIT Corporate Learning Group.
