Landscape Labs

Landscape and Horticulture students have access to both indoor and outdoor spaces of the 250 acre Humber Arboretum to design and construct decks, gazebos, retaining walls and water features. The Arboretum includes ornamental gardens, woodland gardens, wildlife gardens, and ecologically diverse environments centered on the west branch of the Humber River. Along with the Construction Lab, the Arboretum serves as a unique “living classroom" for plant studies, construction, arboricultural and horticultural skills.

Construction Lab

Our new construction lab is housed in a weather protected 8000 square foot facility which allows full scale structures such as decks, gazebos, retaining walls and water features. We also have excellent computer labs for teaching our CAD (computer aided design and drafting) courses.

Tranquility Garden

Students from the Landscape Technician program constructed a beautiful 20’x40’ Modern Tranquility Garden, on display at the Toronto Congress Center. Constructed under the direction of Instructor Collin Shotlander, the garden is a fantastic example of our students' work.

Greenhouses

Humber also has 6,000 square feet of state-of-the-art greenhouses that further enhance the practical learning experience.
