Students learn the essentials of texture painting, discussing how observation and an understanding of the original object's surface qualities are the skills necessary to create photorealistic textures. Students learn how to create colour, bump and specular maps and how each type of map affects the surface qualities of a CG model, and how these three basic map types work together to create a photorealistic surface. Students will also explore using Photoshop to create Pre-Viz compositions that will help them plan, visualize, and pitch, VFX shots before they go.
