Academic Year: 2026-2027
Examine the legislative framework surrounding the creation, operation and management of condominium corporations in Ontario. Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015 amends the Condominium Act, 1998 and introduces the licensing of condominium managers under the Condominium Management Services Act, 2015 (CMSA). Explore a range of issues affecting condominium corporations in Ontario, including consumer protection, management contracts, dispute resolution and both recent and anticipated legislative reforms. Students will also be introduced to the major players in the condominium world, including various administrative authorities and regulators. This is one of four courses required for a general license under the Condominium Services Act (cmrao.ca), and one of four courses that lead to the RCM (Registered Condominium Manager) designation with ACMO (acmo.org).
