Group Counselling

In this course students use resources and basic skills to create and facilitate a mental health and addictions counselling group. Theoretical and practical applications are discussed with a focus on culturally inclusive and anti-oppressive group frameworks. In collaboration with their peers and individually, students will immerse themselves in theories, practice and group interventions unique to different client groups. Emphasis is placed on practical application and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Students reflect critically on their own facilitation skills.
