This course looks at the on-going changes in the rapidly evolving world of advertising. We will look at the trends, social forces, and technological developments that are shaping and transforming the industry on an almost daily basis - from ownership structure and the nature of the agency model, to the impact of VR and mobile, to the evolution of current thinking on leadership and the nature of creativity. There will be a combination of labs, group assignments and independent study. This multi-faceted delivery method is designed to support and guide students as they integrate and synthesize what they have learned in the preceding semesters. Students will work in teams to explore the implications of these changes, and conceive and produce advertising campaigns that reflect particular aspects of the changes the course will address.
