This course will introduce students to devising theatre in a collaborative context through techniques and processes intended for the creation of original work for the stage. Students will be exposed to a variety of pedagogies in theatre making including Viewpoints, Moment Work, Verbatim, Adaptation of text, Composition and Theatre for Social Change that will assist them in developing a devising vocabulary and provide them with concrete tools to continue creating their own work in the future. Collaboration, experimentation, communication, openness and curiosity are the bedrock of this course.
