In this course, students select a specific industry problem related to manufacturing and use knowledge and methods gained throughout the program to provide relevant solutions. Students develop innovative solutions to real-world manufacturing challenges, selecting from topics such as process optimization, technology implementation, automation, and digitalization. Working with a faculty supervisor, students prepare a proposal and detailed schedule. Other deliverables include the design package (including fabrication drawings, bill of material, and test/validation plan) and the implementation and validation of the solution, presented to stakeholders. The course culminates with the submission of comprehensive final report. (note: this course is intended to span two semesters).
