This course provides a broad foundation of planning knowledge and project management skills specific to arts and cultural organizations. Topics such as strategic planning, project and special event management, contingency planning and change management will be discussed in the context of organizational processes serving artistic vision. Emphasis will be placed on building appropriately on other academic and practical disciplines, including development, communications and finances as well as their application within the structure of applied planning processes. Through an applied project, this course also addresses elements of programming in arts, culture and heritage.
