This course introduces Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and simple discrete (digital) machine control applications with a focus on sequencing as the main function of the controller. Foundation topics include PLC hardware, addressing of physical inputs and outputs, internal memory addressing, PLC scan cycle, timers, counters, and sequencers. Laboratory activities are implemented using the Ladder Diagram (LD) programming language.
