Industrial Automation Project

Course Code: ATMN 310

Academic Year: 2024-2025

Students select an electromechanical technical project and create a detailed proposal. In this course students provide a proposed solution to an industry based problem and develop technical drawings accordingly. The project is preferably on behalf of, but could also be in consultation with, industry partners. The proposal includes a rationale for the project, cost projections, a feasibility study, time and material estimates, relevant drawings, schematics, supporting data, a systematic approach to the planning, performance and control of the project and an analysis of the proposed design, construction and deployment phases. The proposal must clearly demonstrate an understanding of the five elements of a technical project: comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation of the topic material.
