This course relates to the development and implementation of control strategies and interactive graphics displays for use with real-time control systems in applications involving Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), utilizing both discrete (digital) and analog signals. Topics include user interface screen design guidelines, security levels, trends, alarms, animation, data collection and manipulation in the .NET environment using the OPC Data Access specification. The Ziegler-Nichols method of closed-loop PID controller tuning is also covered.
