Poetry & Its Particulars: Workshop

In this course students learn foundational poetics while exploring what it means to write poetry in the contemporary moment. Through in-class writing, lectures and discussions of required reading/listening/viewing, students hone their creative, analytical and communicative skills. By learning how to appreciate and critique the work of exemplary poets, students prepare for the writing workshop portion of class, where they participate as active and engaged writers, readers and editors of original poems.
