Course Code: BDES 1002

Academic Year: 2024-2025

As budding designers, students gain the writing tools they need to describe and explain their research insights and capture the essence of the story to be told through human-centered design. They begin the essential task of journal-keeping to provide a storehouse of personal scenes and stories to draw upon in their on-going narrative journey through the genre of creative nonfiction. Communities, scenes and stories are the foundation of creative nonction. Well-crafted, vivid scenes and stories show rather than tell the factual details and information, compelling readers to grasp and remember the meaning behind the words. In this course, students learn to write by writing using the creative nonfiction genre to explore memory, voice, narrative structure and evocative description.
