Students develop their understanding of overall web design process, and apply their knowledge by building simple websites. Students are introduced to software tools for web design, HTML (hypertext mark-up) & CSS (cascading style sheets) as web-authoring languages. Other topics include broader interactive design principles, and specific considerations for displaying web content including use of images/video, an introduction to digital typography and type-faces, and basic accessibility considerations. Students learn the process of developing a website from scratch, including sketching, wire framing and applying visual design to a responsive webpage, through to proper HTML and CSS syntax for creating webpages to display images, text, sound and video.
