This course will teach an integrative approach to basic and graphical methods of presenting information. It will review visualizations, methods of presentations, and design strategies used to represent complex information and data sets. Best practices of organizing and encoding information will be practiced through projects and in-class exercises. An understanding of multidimensional information structures will be covered, and their use and scope. The course will help students examine the context and use of various visualization types, so students can choose from cartography to computational methods, and from statistics to visual perception.
