In order to survive in today's complex world, organizations need to generate, embrace, and execute on new ideas. That takes creativity and a creatively capable workforce. Organizations without it can't compete. Design thinking is becoming an accepted methodology in contemporary organizations. In this course students investigate how successful companies are adopting and applying the principles and methods of user experience design to a range of business and organizational questions including strategy, internal systems, innovation, internal and external communications, and change management. In this course students examine the growing range of employment opportunities available to designers with curious mindsets. They formulate and articulate the contributions they can offer as they plan for their shift into the working world.
