This course will explore economics as economists see it: not as a collection of facts about markets but as a powerful approach to thinking about almost any human behaviour. Economics is the study of how society and individuals use limited resources to meet their needs. Microeconomics focuses on the individual and the firm but also considers the role of government in economic organization. Specifically, it examines consumer demand, supply, prices and the role of market structures in making profit-maximizing decisions.Please note that students who choose to take an online section of this course must write the final exam in person, at either the Humber North or Lakeshore campus, or, if located more than 100km from the campus, through an approved proctoring facility. Any costs associated with this are the sole responsibility of the student.
