This course will explore economics as economists see it: not as a collection of facts about markets but as a powerful approach to thinking about almost any human behaviour. Economics is the study of how society and individuals use limited resources to meet their needs. Microeconomics focuses on the individual and the firm but also considers the role of government in economic organization. Specifically, it examines consumer demand, supply, prices and the role of market structures in making profit-maximizing decisions.
