Students will gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental codes and standards that are applicable to the professional practice of Engineering in Canada and in Ontario. The Ontario Building Code (OBC) and National Building Code (NBC) and Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) along with standard writing organizations; specifically the Standards Council of Canada, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) will be discussed. Students will interpret and apply relevant codes to projects.
