Students will acquire general knowledge of the project procurement process and focus on the principles of estimating for architecture/engineering/construction (A/E/C) projects. Students will extract quantities and calculate costs estimates for a variety of construction materials. By reviewing drawings through various phases, the student will have the knowledge and skills needed to determine the quantity and type of materials required for a project. Real life field situations will be discussed to help the student visualize the scope and magnitude of a construction project and produce reliable estimates.
