BFMP 2505 provides an introduction to the professional practices of film and media production management by examining the elements involved in the planning and creation of film and media projects. Students are given an overview of the management, business, financial and legal aspects of production through pre-production and production phases of filmmaking. Emphasis is placed on industry standards and best practices and their adaptation to low-budget and student media making. Students are introduced to the challenges of the production process and develop problem solving strategies. Students will use Movie Magic production management software and professional production paperwork.
