In the Human Resources in the Workplace course, students explore the essential elements of human resource (HR) functions in a range of organizations. Students examine how HR contributes to organizational goals and employee health and wellness. Students examine the relationship between effective HR functions and employee recruitment, retention and satisfaction, and business strategy. Students discover functional areas of HR including proactive and reactive strategies, the impacts of stress and mental health, benefit packages, employee assistance programs, disability management and return-to -work planning, health, and safety requirements, as well as human resource planning and development.
