Health literacy explores the implications of health literacy on the individual or group communication of health-related information. Students investigate how factors such as communication skills, culture, vulnerable populations impact methods of utilizing healthy literacy. Students examine research findings linking literacy and its impact on health knowledge, health promoting behaviors, health outcomes and health resource utilization.
