In this course students learn effective personal communications, data visualization and data storytelling techniques. Students explore and practice methods of creating clear written, oral and interpersonal communication, and presenting analytic data in graphic and dashboard forms. They enhance their ability to organize information based on purpose and audience, express ideas clearly, precisely and effectively, using up-to-date technology, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and Tableau. Students understand the techniques needed to prepare and model data to build actionable business intelligence solutions. Students also learn how to inspire business actions from data insights by understanding the principles of data storytelling.
