This course builds upon the foundational content presented in BIOT101. Learners engage in discussions on more advanced topics in Chemistry, which include chemical equilibria, acids and bases, solubility, and colligative properties of solutions.Chemical reactions are explored and characterized from the perspective of speed (kinetics) and energetics (thermodynamics), and methods for identifying and balancing redox reactions are introduced. An emphasis on laboratory applications of these topics is applied. The theory gained in this course is reinforced within the co-requisite laboratory course BIOT151.
