In this course, learners engage in advanced practical exercises in organic and biological chemistry, including the full synthesis and characterization of small molecules for biological applications, advanced chromatographic separations, and quantitative structural analysis of biologically-relevant molecules. As a capstone project in this course, learners engage in a multi-week drug development exercise which includes a computational component. In this culminating laboratory course in Chemical Techniques, learners refine and acquire skills to support their successful transition to the workplace.
