This theory and laboratory-based course provides learners with a foundational understanding of the structure, characteristics, and transformations of matter. Topics include the quantum model of the atom, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, chemical reactions and stoichiometry, solutions and acid base chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics and equilibrium, and an introduction to thermodynamics. This course prepares learners for advanced courses in chemistry within the Biomedical Sciences Field.
