This course will provide students with the opportunity to become proficient in hand and foot care through demonstrations and practical applications in a lab setting. Students will have the opportunity to perform and practice the step by step procedures essential for manicures and pedicures, paraffin treatments, basic hand and arm massage, French manicures, as well as best practices for health and safety. Professional attitude, ethical behaviour; client care and cleanliness are stressed, as well as the correct use of spa implements and products. Spa industry standards, regulations, policies, procedures, health, safety, and sanitation and infection control guidelines are practiced. A strong emphasis is placed on the timeliness of services in order to ensure students capability and success in the workplace.
