This course will provide students with the practical knowledge and skill of performing personal care applications on clients while ensuring safety, privacy and comfort. Students will have the opportunity to acquire skills to address clients' epilation needs; and will practice and perform temporary hair removal from the legs, chest, back, underarms, arms and bikini areas. Under the guidance and supervision of Faculty and Lab Technologists, students will practice these forms of hair removal while understanding the benefits and contra-indications of such treatments and their efficacy. Spa industry standards, regulations, and procedures; along with Infection, Prevention and Control guidelines are practiced. A strong emphasis is placed on the timeliness of services in order to ensure students' capability and success in the workplace.
