Academic Year: 2022-2023
Students, under the guidance and coaching of Lab Technologists, provide client services while working within the program's simulated spa work environment - The Humber Spa. Students apply the skills learned to provide retail and client services, including manicures, pedicures, waxing services, skin consultations, facials, and body treatments. Professionalism and customer care are critical in this environment. Spa industry standards, regulations, policies, procedures, ethics, proper equipment use, sanitation and infection control guidelines are of paramount importance. Additionally, students are introduced to the administration aspects of client services; such as reception, scheduling client appointments, sale of products and marketing. This lab reinforces material taught in Semesters 1 and 2; and incorporates Semester 3.
