Residential framing will introduce the student to the various types of framed structure (Western, Post and Beam and Balloon). The primary focus will be on Western or platform framing. The student will engage in the study of all of the components of framed walls, their corner details and partition intersections. The course will overview the requirements for framing rough openings for windows and doors and understand the codes around lintels and bracing and nailing patterns.
