This course will explore building principals specifically as they relate to exterior elements and their effect on the building and various building products. Essentially the "building envelope" is addressed with consideration for, moisture and air movement including insulation, membranes and air barriers. Students will demonstrate a full knowledge of the components of the "Rain Screen" principal and water proofing the building effectively while maintaining a healthy building.
