In this course students explore the function of mechanical and electrical (M & E) systems in buildings including order of trades to be scheduled to avoid physical and costly conflicts. The course will review major M&E systems and their components and equipment, including sustainable technologies and applications found on construction sites today. M&E drawings and specifications are interpreted along with an overview of relevant codes, standards and emerging trends. Life Safety systems are reviewed as they relate to relevant trades.
