Students will apply the procedures of construction estimating from bid preparation to bid analysis. Students learn the legal framework of competitive bidding procedures and best practices in construction tendering. Students develop practical skills for preparing bidding documents, Request for Proposals (RFP), prequalifying contractors, compiling and evaluating Trade quotations, pricing general contractors' direct and indirect costs. Bid deadlines and delivery methods are explored along with typical contracting business practices for tendering and project start-up costs and tracking.
