The course concentrates on foundation technology, including the design and construction procedures of simple, shallow and deep foundations, stability of retaining walls, cuts and embankments. The students have the opportunity to perform more sophisticated laboratory tests on soils, such as the triaxial, direct shear and consolidation tests.
