This course examines the notion of community as it relates to community justice work. After sketching out a few key features of this term, we consider some of the obstacles that modern community-builders face in preserving or creating community. The last part of the course looks at a variety of community-building strategies, and tries to determine which of them, or which elements of them, are best suited for future efforts.
