Course Code: CJS 253
Academic Year: 2021-2022
This course examines a number of controversial issues now being debated in community and criminal justice circles, and is meant to equip students with the tools they need to find, understand, and participate in those debates. Grouped under the general theme of "Limits to Justice," topics focus on the constraints imposed by technology, economics, the private sphere, and the "human factor." Debates around academic controversies will prepare students to apply what they have learned in more focused case studies. These will be fueled by recent news, and will force students to consider solutions to developing problems.
