This course introduces students to the key elements of art direction, such as advertising layout for various media formats, design, typography, visual thinking and advertising concept. In this course, students acquire enough working knowledge of art direction and ideation to create a first portfolio of advertisements. Students are encouraged to move beyond words alone, to solve advertising problems with creative typographic and design solutions. Students also learn basic media layouts and formats.
