This course will familiarize students with the Child and Youth Care field and scope of practice. Students will learn about diverse opportunities in the field through interactions with visiting practitioners and BCYC graduates. They will also have the opportunity to critically explore contemporary questions in the field of child and youth care and develop tools and confidence to begin the work of creative, anti-oppressive practice. While semester 1 students experience the common platform, this course will serve as their CYC point of connection with classmates, professors, and CYC professionals.
