This course introduces students to the core competencies in Child and Youth Care. Students examine competencies such as Professionalism, Cultural and Human Diversity, Applied Human Development, Relationship and Communication, and Developmental Practice Methods. Content of this course will change to remain current and relevant with themes and trends in CYC post-Secondary Education. Through group discussions, applied activities, self-reflection and critical thinking, students will gain the knowledge and skill necessary to work with diverse populations and promote the well-being of children and youth.
