Research Methods in Child and Youth Care

Course Code: CYC 3500

Academic Year: 2024-2025

Child and youth care practitioners must have the skills to consume and engage in research in line with contemporary scholarly and professional practice in the field. As such, the learning outcomes of this course are designed to introduce students to the ethical implementation of research design, data analysis, production of findings, and knowledge mobilization. Students are expected to make use of current research, to integrate relevant theory, to articulate their own positionality and concepts of childhood in their work, to attend to the lived experience of children and youth, and to apply knowledge of professional CYC standards of practice.
