Race and Anti-racism

Using an anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, and anti-racist lens, this course will analyze the impacts of racism in Child and Youth Care. Using race as an entry point, this course will also use an intersectional lens to look at systems of oppression including, but not limited to, class, gender, sexuality, ability. Students will build on their understanding of the Canadian legacies of colonialism and anti-Black racism and how they impact the lives of children, youth and families.
