Persuasive Campaigns and Consumer Culture

This course is designed to teach how sophisticated commercial, social action and political communication campaigns are planned and executed. Students begin by getting a "behind the scenes" tour of how attitudes are changed, how opinions are created, and how behaviours are triggered on a mass scale through carefully orchestrated communication campaigns. Students evaluate and design effective communication campaigns of their own.
